CHANGE THE WAY THE WORLD SEES YOU
Speak-Up!!! For Shy & Introverted Kids

I was the perfect example of an introverted kid. The pinnacle and epitome of shyness. The crowned king of all introversion. I loathe small talk and chit-chat. In fact, at times I still struggle with it. All this quiet and introversion is good to some extent such as meditation and prayer, deep focusing on a particular topic, laser-sharp listening skills and so on. But it is to some extent quite self-destructive when you intend to become captain of the school netball team or president of the student board or even the humble class captain. All these leadership roles require you to not just speak but speak-up with confidence! You must be able to command a troupe by simply using your voice. To speak up, out, and over! And this is the course that will teach you just that.
I have learnt that most introverts are absolutely brilliant and have great stories to tell. They want to voice something but when they speak, they get shutdown or drowned out by the louder bunch. I have personally experienced this. So I developed skills that have helped me voice my opinions, be heard, and command a presence. But it didn’t come easy. I had to learn and mentally train myself to do this.

In this course, we’ll go through mock conversations in which your child will be put into situations and trained to respond with authority using their voice and body presence. We will go through most of the methods used in General Voice Coaching, and use those skills to project the voice. Yes, some kids need training. It does not come naturally and that is absolutely fine. It’s a skill that can be learnt. I mean, I learnt it through my occupation as a Healthcare Practitioner, Manager, and now Voice Actor. I had no other choice but to speak up or possibly lose my job!
In this course we’ll do odd-type physical exercises that’s designed to loosen the body and free the voice from inside-out. Methods designed for actors by Kristin Linklater and Patsy Rodenburg and other great teachers. And by the way, did you know that many of your favourite actors, artists, and entrepreneurs are introverts. Selena Gomez, Matt Damon, David Attenborough, and Nelson Mandela to name a few. They shine in front of the camera or crowd, but when all is done, they move away into silence and aloneness. So, if your child is an introvert, these speaking skills are designed to propel them to leadership roles at school by being confident and speaking up when needed. And yes, your shy introverted kid can be taught to speak up. It’s simply a matter of training.
Overall, this course is for the quiet and introverted child whose parent is concerned that they might miss out on leadership roles. It's for the child who's struggling to make friends and socialise.
